Steps to Switch Out of S Mode

The process to get out of S Mode must be done manually through the Microsoft Store because it involves licensing and security restrictions that Microsoft has set in place. Here’s how you can manually switch out of S Mode:

  1. Open Settings:
  • Press Win + I to open the Settings app.
  1. Go to “Activation”:
  • Click on Update & Security (Windows 10) or System (Windows 11), then select Activation in the left pane.
  1. Find the Switch Option:
  • Under the Switch to Windows 10/11 Home or Switch to Windows 10/11 Pro section (depending on your edition), click Go to the Store.
  1. Switch Out of S Mode:
  • In the Microsoft Store, you should see a page that allows you to switch out of S Mode. Click the Get button (it’s free).
  1. Follow the Prompts:
  • After clicking Get, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the switch out of S Mode.
