Can You Retrieve My Data Off My Old Computer Even If It Doesn’t Boot Up (or turn on) ?
In many cases, the answer is "yes", provided that the hard drive hasn't experienced a complete crash. We can typically recover various types of files such as pictures, documents, spreadsheets, QuickBooks Company Files, music (including iTunes), and occasionally email/contacts from Outlook.
I Think My Hard Drive Has Completely Crashed. Can You Still Recover My Data?
The outcome depends on the nature of the drive's damage. In the case of an external drive, there are instances where we can find workarounds for failures. However, for internal drives exhibiting abnormal clicking noises, repeated spinning cycles, or failure to power on, data recovery may not be possible. To evaluate the situation and provide assistance, please contact us at 845-592-4019 or bring the drive to our location.
My Laptop's Screen is Shattered. Can You Fix it? How Long Will it Take? Is it Worth Repairing?
We replace broken/cracked laptop screens usually within a couple of days... In general, it’s usually worth having your screen replaced if your laptop isn’t more than four years old... We use replacement screens which are of the same quality (if not better) than what your laptop came with... Prices vary by model, but in general most laptop screens can be replaced from $99 - $150

Do You Recommend a Specific Backup Strategy?
Backup solutions can be different depending on the situation... External hard drives and online services can be convenient and cost-effective for home users... Business clients will usually require onsite and offsite data redundancy... We assess a situation to learn about what’s important to a client so an appropriate recommendation can be made... What is the budget? How much data needs to be backed up and how often? What options are going to be most convenient if a disaster recovery plan needs to be executed? One thing rings true across the board: keep your data in as many places as you can. OK, maybe that sounds a little drastic. But if your data is very important, two isn’t enough. Remember that even though the chances of something going wrong with two separate sets of data are small, it can still happen. A good rule of thumb is 3 total places. This could include the computer on which the data originally resides, an online backup, an external hard drive, a second computer, a flash drive or on optical media like CDs and DVDs...
The bottom line: you should get a backup solution of some sort in place now – before you lose your data...
